From Wednesday 25th to Saturday 28th October, the Istanbul Expo Center played host to the 16th ISK-SODEX trade fair in Istanbul, Turkey. The biennial event connects the climatisation industry worldwide, bringing together the international HVAC&R, insulation, pump, valve, fittings, water treatment, fire prevention, pool, and solar energy sectors under one roof. With this year’s theme being ‘Healthy Climate Solutions’, there was the opportunity for the full Eurovent family to get involved. Eurovent Association was an International Supporter Association, while the team from Eurovent Market Intelligence (EMI), Eurovent Certita Certification (ECC), and ProdBIM set up a stall in exhibition hall 4 at booth E01.
This year nearly 1,000 brands exhibited from 19 countries, with a staggering 89,694 visitors attending the trade fair. The ISK-Sodex exhibition took on an extra layer of importance as Turkey celebrated the 100th anniversary of its founding. The entire event was infused with the spirit of this historic occasion, with celebrations and commemorations visible throughout.
As well as hosting the globe’s leading brands, ISK-Sodex featured 25 sectoral forums and panels across the four days. Of these panels, the first session on October 26th in Hall 5, was, “Unlocking IAQ Excellence: Hygienic AHU Market & Certification with Eurovent,” led by Mustafa Dilsen, ECC Programme Manager, Beyza Aykurt, Market Analyst at Eurovent Market Intelligence, and Orhun Aksoy, Boreas Sales Manager.
On the second day of ISK-Sodex, Mustafa Dilsen took the stage first to present a comprehensive overview of the Eurovent Hygienic AHU certification process and explain its benefits. Then, Beyza Aykurt covered industry insights from Eurovent Market Intelligence, allowing delegates to understand the latest trends and emerging opportunities in Turkiye and beyond. She presented the AHU 2022 market size in unit and euro, and its market structure (capacity, energy class, equipment, applications, etc.) while comparing Turkiye and Europe. She concluded her presentation by highlighting how health is one of the most important applications in Turkiye and has a higher share in the market compared to the European average. Therefore, Turkiye is one of the countries where the hygienic AHU certification has high relevance and importance. Finally, Orhun Aksoy, stood up to tell a story of certification, sharing a case study on a city hospital project, where 62 hygienic air AHUs were installed.
The ISK-Sodex exhibition was a great success, living up to its reputation as a juggernaut of HVAC&R exhibitions. It offered an excellent opportunity to catch up with EMI participants and present the EMI activity to non-participants.
